Crop PDF Pages

Crop margins from every page of a PDF in your browser. Adjustable top, right, bottom, left in PDF points. Free and private. 100% free and private.

How to use

  1. Upload PDF — Drop in the PDF whose pages need a cleaner crop.
  2. Set Margins (in points) — Trim top, right, bottom, left in PDF points — 28pt ≈ 1cm, 72pt = 1in.
  3. Download Cropped PDF — Get a tighter document with white space removed from every page.

The PDF Crop Pages tool trims unwanted margins from every page of a PDF — perfect for cleaning up scanned books, removing scanner shadows, tightening academic papers, or preparing files for e-readers that benefit from edge-to-edge content.

Common use cases

  • E-reader optimisation — strip wide margins so Kindle or reMarkable shows larger text.
  • Scanned book cleanup — remove black borders from a phone-scanned page.
  • Printing efficiency — fit more content per printed page.
  • Slide PDFs — remove header/footer borders from exported decks.

How cropping works

The tool resets both the CropBox and MediaBox of every page using pdf-lib. The values you enter are measured in PDF points from each respective edge. The underlying content is preserved inside the file — viewers simply render the new region.

Quick reference

1 cm ≈ 28 points · 1 inch = 72 points · A4 = 595 × 842 pt · Letter = 612 × 792 pt.

Privacy

Everything runs in your browser — no upload, no server. Safe for sensitive scans, legal documents, and confidential reports.

Frequently asked questions

What is a PDF point?

PDF uses typographic points: 72 points = 1 inch and 28.35 points ≈ 1 centimetre. A standard A4 page is 595 × 842 points. Set 28 in each field to trim about 1 cm from every edge.

Will the actual content be cut off?

Yes — anything inside the cropped area is hidden from viewers (and printers). The MediaBox is reset, so the cropped region is treated as the new physical page. Always preview before sharing.

Is the original data deleted?

No. pdf-lib only changes the visible page region — the underlying objects remain in the file. Use a flatten/re-rasterise tool first if you need to physically remove the trimmed content.

Does this work for scanned PDFs?

Yes. Cropping works for both vector PDFs and image-based scans, because it only adjusts the page geometry — not the content layer.
