How to use
Upload PDF — Select the PDF you want to extract pages from.
Enter Page Range — Type pages like 1-5, 7, 10-12. The tool shows your total pages.
Extract & Download — Get a new PDF containing only the pages you selected.
The PDF Page Extractor lets you pull specific pages from a PDF and save them as a new, smaller document. Whether you need to isolate a single chapter, pull an appendix, or reorder pages for a presentation, this browser-based tool handles it instantly — no upload, no installation.
Why Extract Pages from a PDF?
Full PDFs are convenient for distribution, but they are unwieldy for focused tasks. Extracting pages lets you:
Email smaller files — send only the relevant pages instead of a 50 MB report.
Reorganise content — pull chapters and recombine them in a custom order.
Remove sensitive sections — create a redacted version by extracting only safe pages.
Split for review — distribute individual sections to different team members.
How It Works
We use pdf-lib to load your PDF, copy the requested pages into a fresh document object, and save the result. The original content streams (text, images, vectors) are preserved exactly — no re-encoding, no quality loss. The operation is performed entirely inside your browser's memory, so your data never leaves your device.
Reorder — 10, 1, 5 places page 10 first, then page 1, then page 5.
Privacy & Performance
Because the extraction happens client-side, even confidential documents (contracts, medical records, legal briefs) can be processed safely. A 100-page PDF typically extracts in under 1 second on modern hardware.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter page ranges?
Use comma-separated numbers and dashes. For example: '1-5, 7, 10-12' extracts pages 1 through 5, page 7, and pages 10 through 12. Spaces are optional.
Can I reorder pages during extraction?
Yes! The order you type determines the output order. Entering '10, 3, 5' produces a PDF with page 10 first, then page 3, then page 5.
Does this work with password-protected PDFs?
Owner-password-protected PDFs may work. Open-password (encryption) protected PDFs must be unlocked first with our Remove PDF Password tool.
Will file size change?
The extracted PDF contains only the selected pages, so it is usually smaller. However, embedded fonts and images shared across pages may still be included.
