CSV Viewer

Open any CSV, TSV or delimited file directly in your browser. Sort columns, search rows, export filtered view. Free and private. 100% free and private.

How to use

  1. Upload CSV — Drop a .csv, .tsv, or any delimited file up to 25 MB.
  2. Browse & Search — Sort by any column, filter by text — handles thousands of rows.
  3. Export Filtered View — Download the current sorted/filtered data as a new CSV.

The CSV Viewer opens any CSV, TSV or pipe-delimited file in your browser as a searchable, sortable table. Perfect for quickly inspecting data exports, customer lists, log dumps, and analytics CSVs without launching Excel or uploading to a cloud spreadsheet.

What it does

  • Auto-detects separator (comma / tab / pipe / semicolon).
  • Sort any column ascending or descending — numeric or alphabetical.
  • Search across every field instantly.
  • Paginate 50 rows at a time for responsive scrolling.
  • Export the filtered/sorted view as a fresh CSV.

Why use this over Excel?

  • Zero install — opens instantly in the browser.
  • Privacy — confidential exports never reach a server.
  • Fast — no spreadsheet formula recalculation overhead.
  • Cross-platform — works on Chromebook, iPad, Linux.

Privacy

The file is read with the browser's FileReader and held only in memory. Nothing is uploaded. Safe for customer lists, financial exports, and any private dataset.

Frequently asked questions

How large a file can I open?

Up to 25 MB. Larger files may freeze the browser tab — split with a desktop tool first. Sorting and filtering happen entirely in memory, so very wide rows are slower than tall ones.

Does it handle quoted CSV?

Yes — fields wrapped in double quotes may contain commas, newlines and escaped quotes (""), following the standard CSV convention used by Excel and Google Sheets.

Can I export the filtered data?

Yes. The 'Export' button writes the currently sorted and searched view back to a new CSV, preserving column order and proper quoting.

Why is my TSV detected as CSV?

Auto-detect uses the first row. If your TSV has commas inside cells, switch the separator manually to Tab to force correct parsing.
